Siemens Streamline Ocean Tenders with Automation
Siemens faced a time-consuming and resource-heavy process for managing high-frequency mini tenders for ocean freight. The old process required sourcing teams to conduct multiple rounds of clarification and manual data validation with limited resources.
The customer aimed to remove the manual burden of their high-frequency mini tenders for ocean freight while keeping their sourcing teams in control of the awards. They wanted to reclaim countless hours for strategic spend and establish consistent sourcing best practices.
Siemens partnered with Keelvar and implemented Autonomous Sourcing Bots to automate repetitive tasks involved in their sourcing process. Out of 44 identified tasks, 93% are now automated, equal to 132,000 fewer manual tasks every year.
The sourcing teams retain clear, fine control throughout the process, with the option to override any of the bot's actions or stages. As a result, Siemens has reclaimed numerous sourcing hours, established consistent sourcing practices, and increased the speed of their processes.
